Staying signed in

A session cookie keeps you signed in to your desk. Without it you would have to log in on every page. If you choose “Remember me,” a longer-lived cookie stays until you sign out or it expires.

Remembering what you clicked

If you pick a paid plan before logging in, we store that intent for the length of your visit so we can send you to checkout afterwards.

Security

Laravel also sets cookies that protect form submissions and keep a signed-in session from being used by another site. Those cookies are required for the desk to work.

Understanding the site

The marketing site and the desk load PostHog, which may set a cookie or use local storage so return visits count as the same browser. That is how we see which pages get read and which buttons get used.

Public pages

A published record does not require a cookie to read or to ask a question. Visitors are never asked to sign in. We also do not load analytics there.
